The Scourge

I know I don’t blog about sports all that often, but this – nestled within a typically annoying string of inimitable craptasticness – is too good to pass up:

Notre Dame will be better.

Perhaps improved enough to lose another bowl game. But part of the Fighting Irish fan base won’t notice, because it’ll be consumed with watching for Scourge of Humanity Ty Willingham to fail at Washington.

Given that it is Pat Forde’s colleague Gene Wojlkchkowlekski, more than perhaps anyone else in the known universe, whose unbending obsession with all things Willinghamesque has led him to say all sorts of stupid and demonstrably false things about my beloved alma mater, it is strange to say the least to have an ESPN.com columnist picking on Notre Dame fans for a similar quirk. So here’s an offer for you, Pat: if you guys shut up about Ty, we’ll do the same. Sound good?

By the way, expect a bit more college football blogging as the season draws nearer
